Files can be emailed to you directly or put on a USB or Hard Drive. If you would like your videos burned to a DVD or CD that can also be done for only $2 per disc burned.

Additionally, have digital clean-up, colour-correction, stabilization, cropping and editing performed for an additional $30 p/hr. This is completely optional.

Premium Photo Digitization
Convert paper photographs or slides into digital files for easy viewing and sending to family and friends with additional digital clean-up, colour correction, red-eye removal and cropping for $30 p/hr. Photos will need to be digitized with the above service first for only $2 per photo.
Clean up services also available for photos you already have digitally for the same price - simply provide them via USB or email them to SherwoodForestFilms@Gmail.com.

Question 1: How can I send in my physical VHS Tapes, DVDs, Photos, etc. for digitization?

Answer: We offer free pick up and delivery in Brisbane. For those outside Brisbane you can mail your media to 2 Lance Street, Sherwood 4075, drop them off in person
For those who wish to mail in items, please either attach a letter detailing what service you would like, how to send the final digital files back to you, whether you would like the actual physical tapes, photos, etc. back, contact details, etc. or provide this information via email at SherwoodForestFilms@gmail.com or by calling or texting
0405 513 414.
For those who wish to drop off items in person or have them collected, please call or email ahead to let me know you are coming/you would like me to pick them up.

Question 2: I already have photos/videos/audio digitally on my computer that I would like to either have cleaned up and colour corrected or turned into a slideshow. How should I go about sending them in to have this done?
​
Answer: You can email any videos, photos or sound recordings to SherwoodForestFilms@gmail.com. Alternatively, you can also put files on a USB and either mail it to 2 Lance Street, Sherwood 4075, drop it off in person either on a USB or using a Laptop or have me come and copy them at your place. For people who wish to drop off files in person, please call ahead at 0405 513 414 or email to the address above, to let me know you are coming and for those who wish to have me come and collect files please do the same.

Question 3: I have videos/photos/audio on a format not listed above (e.g. Betamax, 8mm film, etc.). Can I have those digitized?
​
Answer: Most formats can be digitized if you provide either the device used to record the media (e.g. Betamax video camera) or a device used to play the media back (e.g. Betamax tape player). The device must be in working order.
Unfortunately this does not apply to video captured on film (8mm, Super 8, 16mm, etc.) or audio captured on Magnetic Tape. Sherwood Forest Films does not currently offer digitization for those formats.

​Question 4: What does it mean to have my photos, videos or photos cleaned up? Why should I opt for the premium digitization service rather than the standard?

Answer: The premium digitization service can include various processes to ensure your memories are preserved in the best way possible. It brings your family media into the modern age by correcting aspects that can make it look dated or not its best such as grainy or noisy image, washed out or faded colours, the dreaded red-eye photo effect, dirt & scratches on photographs, crackly audio, shaky or dodgy camera work, blurry picture, etc.

​​​​​Question 5: How will the finished digital files be sent to me?​

Answer: Files can either be emailed to you directly, mailed on a USB, Hard Drive, DVD or CD or given to you in person on a USB, Hard Drive, DVD or CD or by being copied onto your Laptop. It must be noted that if you have a large amount of videos/photos/audio files, they may not be able to be emailed or may not fit on a standard USB or your Laptop. In that case you will need to purchase an external Hard Drive. Specific Hard Drives can be recommended if required. The cost of mailing or purchasing USBs, Hard Drives, etc. is not covered and must be paid for by customers.

Question 6: What happens to my old VHS tapes, DVDs, paper photographs, etc. after they've been digitized?​
​
Answer: If you want your old media back you can either pick it up in person from 2 Lance Street, Sherwood 4075, have it dropped off at your place or have it mailed back to you for a standard postage fee if you live outside of Brisbane. For those who wish to pick up their media in person, please let me know beforehand via email at SherwoodForestFilms@gmail.com or by calling 0405 513 414 to let me know you are coming.

If you do not want your old media back, simply let me know and it will be recycled at no extra cost. Donations of any unwanted recording or playback devices used to digitize more obscure media are greatly appreciated.
